A Vampire Christmas Chapter 1


December 22 8am
It was cold, even for this time of year, not just cold, below freezing cold. It was snowing, the wind was howling through the house. It was deep in the winter; usually I would not even want to step out the door, but I knew I would. I had to; I was a bit behind in my Christmas shopping. I had already gotten Angela her present. I picked out a very practical journal set for her. I figured she would love, and a very pretty fountain pen I knew she would put to good use. I had already picked out what to get Alice and Jasper. Sadly, she knew as I soon as I saw it at the store. I knew she would like it. She called as soon as I got home with the necklace still in my hand. It was not anything extravagant, but it was perfect for her. Two conjoined hearts. The word “sister” inscribed on the back in pretty letters. I still had to go pick up Jasper’s gift. I decided to give him something that he would like to use everyday. A watch from an antique store in Olympia. It was from the exact era in which he would have grown up as a child.  I decided to get Rosalie a very pretty pin that would go perfectly with a new blouse she bought while on a shopping trip with Alice. Emmett was difficult to shop for, as so is the person I’ve been most anxious about, Edward. What am I going to give him? I was going to need to enlist the help of my trusty spying partner. The last expedition with Jasper ended in me finding out several interesting things about him. However, none of what we discovered would help me with this sort of thing. I think I might also need Alice’s expertise in shopping. I quickly reached for the silver cell phone that Edward had given me. I dialed speed dial number three. The phone didn’t even get to have a complete ring before she answered.
“Bella, I’m so glad you called. Your right, you do need my help”
“I know. But do you think Jasper would be willing to help?”
“I don’t think he has much of a choice,” she laughed
“Good. So what are we going to do about Edward?” It was then that I realized I was hearing noises in the background. I could hear the noise of someone typing.
“Alice, am I on speaker phone?”
“Yes” I heard both Jasper and Alice say
“Alright, so are you going to help me?”
“Of course! I am actually offended you think I wouldn’t”
“Jasper? Are you up for another of our little missions, commander?”
“Of course Bella, but what are we going to do about Edward? Alice won’t be here to hold him hostage this time”
“Good point, but I figured it was time Edward spent some quality time with Emmett” I almost laughed at the thought  of Emmett kidnapping Edward this time, this is sure to be interesting.
“I’m proud of you Bella, you figured this out pretty well” Jasper sounded surprised.
“It looks like your starting to wear off on me Jazzy”
Alice spoke this time.
“So, we better get Emmett on board with this, when do you want to kick start the plan”
“How about you all come pick me up in an hour”
“Alright, we’ll get everything ready, bye Bella”
I jumped out of bed and ran for the bathroom. I quickly took a shower and fixed my hair as much as possible. I brushed my teeth in a hurry. I ate some cereal and drank my orange juice quickly. I quickly pulled on a pair of comfortable jeans and a dark green sweater. I had to remind myself how bad the weather was. I grabbed my thick jacket and scarf. I heard the sound of tires on gravel. I looked out the window and saw Alice’s canary yellow Porsche.
I went out the door only to run into the stony chest belonging to Jasper. I almost fell backward from the impact. Thank heavens for quick vampires. Jasper caught me just inches from hitting the floor.
“Thanks Jasper, I really hope I don’t do that again today”
“Anytime Bella” He put me back on my feet gently.
Alice yelled for us to hurry from the car, Jasper and I walked to the car. Jasper opened the door for the backseat for me.

“So where do you think we should go to first, Alice?”
“I was thinking we could go up to Seattle and look around there”
“Alright then, to Seattle”
